Flip, tumble and leap into our Croydon club for exciting gymnastics and ninja classes

Our Croydon Community Club is hosted at Harris Academy Purley on Kendra Hall Road, on the border of South Croydon and Purley. Classes take place in the school’s spacious sports hall, giving children plenty of room to roll, jump and balance. It’s a friendly, welcoming space for children to discover gymnastics, whether they’ve never tried it before or are already cartwheeling round the garden.

What happens in class

Our weekly Gymnastics classes focus on the fundamentals: rolls, jumps, balances and supports. Children use apparatus such as mats, hoops, foam blocks, a vaulting box, bars and a balance beam, building strength, coordination and confidence as they go.

Classes are grouped by age, so children learn alongside others at a similar stage, and our coaches will let you know when your child is ready to move up. Classes run on Friday early evenings and weekend mornings, so check the timetable to find a time that suits your family.

Book a free taster

Not sure if it’s right for your child? Book a free taster class and see for yourself. If they love it, our monthly membership guarantees their place in the same class every week. There’s no contract, so you can cancel anytime.

Pick Up & Drop Off

At Croydon, we will operate on a drop-off and pick-up policy. Unfortunately, there is nowhere in the venue for parents to wait while the class is in session. Parents are welcome to wait in the car park. (With the exception of any medical reason that has been pre-agreed with management)

This is not applicable for the pre-school classes, parents/guardians need to stay with their child during their session.

Please Note: We are a nut-free zone

Due to allergies, at our clubs, we are a nut-free zone. Please do not bring or consume any snacks that contain nuts on the premises.

We appreciate your understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Community Clubs

What should my child wear to class?

The correct clothing for training is shorts and t-shirt, leggings and a t-shirt or leotard. Please do not wear anything that is loose fitting. Your child will be participating in bare feet as we do not allow any footwear on the gym floor, however, grippy socks are also allowed.

Please note:

  • Long hair needs to be tied back.
  • No jewelry is permitted – if ears have recently been pierced, they must be covered up with tape or plasters.
  • No food is permitted during our sessions unless for an event or specific training event. In this case, you will be notified that your child will need to bring a snack.
  • Please remember to bring along a drink for your child and label their water bottle with their name.
  • Children are encouraged to visit the bathroom before they start their session.

We highly recommend that your child attend classes in slip-on shoes which they can get on and off easily by themselves. Shoes with velcro are also fine, however, laced shoes may require assistance, so please avoid having them wear those into the sports hall.

Please send your child into class without their coat. During colder months, we recommend coats are taken off before entry into the class.

Please do not send your child in with bags, toys or iPads. All they need are their shoes and a bottle of water.

Is the equipment in the community clubs the same as the main club?

Our Community Club classes are designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of beginner gymnastics and ninja*.

The equipment used in class may include balance beams, vaults, bars and other apparatus that can assist in delivering a high-quality experience in discovering gymnastics. The equipment varies according to the Community Club location – please refer to your Community Club gallery (this can be found on the club page).

Our larger purpose-built clubs have a range of equipment used to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced gymnastics. This includes spring flooring, advanced bar equipment, and trampolines that can accommodate more advanced skills.

*Ninja is not yet available across all Community Clubs.

What is the difference between a club and community club?

We call our larger clubs, ‘flagship’ clubs. These purpose-built venues offer Gymnastics, Ninja, Dance and preschool movement classes (please check timetables for available activities) and contain advanced gymnastics equipment, like sprung flooring, vaults, foam pits and more traditional gymnastics apparatus. They can also cater for birthday parties and holiday camps.

Our Community Clubs are hosted in community spaces such as community halls, leisure centres and school sports halls. These clubs cater for children aged 2 – 12 years and teaches foundational Gymnastics or Ninja skills. You’ll still find these clubs have lots of equipment, but they just aren’t in purpose-built facilities, so the equipment available might differ from our larger clubs.

You can view all of our community clubs here.

How do I select the right class for my child?

We would always recommend your child to sign up to a class appropriate to their age group, and to select a beginner class if it is their first time. The coach can then assess your child’s skillset and level, and let you know if the class is appropriate for them or if there is a class better suited.

If you’re not sure which activity your child will enjoy the most, you can read the comparison between gymnastics and ninja here.

Please only select classes that are the correct age for your child. If you select a class in an older age group, you risk being turned away and your taster session cancelled, as we need to bear in mind the safety of your child. This could also affect their experience of gymnastics or ninja.

Can I change my child’s class?

If your chosen weekly class no longer is convenient for you, you can change your class – you can either do this yourself in your online Parent Area or get in touch at info@gymfinitykids.com.

My child has a disability, can they join Gymfinity Kids?

We try to offer classes to every child. Please email our Member Service team and inform them of any medical conditions, then we will arrange a time with you to discuss this further with the Club Manager, to see how best we can meet your needs.
