Access Gate Procedure

3 min read

Please note that we have made changes to our club access gates – these came into play on Tuesday 14th November 2023.

All children automatically have ‘independent access‘ with a Gymfinity Kids card. You do not need to tap the parent card before the child card to exit the building. This means your child can enter and exit the club without parental supervision if they have a Gymfinity Kids access card to unlock the gates.

We have access gates in the following clubs: Bracknell, Cambridge (Beehive Centre), Chatham, Maidstone, Milton Keynes, Walton-on-Thames and Wandsworth.

If you’re new to club:

Please arrive at your first session 10 minutes early and let the reception know it’s your first class. If your club has Access Control gates, you and your child will be issued membership cards that you will use to enter and exit the club.

Parents and children will need to remember to bring their cards with them to every session to access the club. Please note, a fee of £2.00 will be charged for lost cards.

Revoking independent access for your child

If you don’t want your child to have independent access, please change the consent setting in your online account (see below to find out how). This will mean your child can only leave the club with parental supervision. If you have more than one child, please navigate to each child and edit the waiver accordingly.

If you would prefer your child’s card not to operate the gates, you have two options:

Option One:
Keep hold of your child’s membership card through class. This is the best way to ensure they aren’t able to use the gates.

Option Two:
You can change the settings in the online Member’s Area so your parent card will need to be used before your child can exit. Please note that changing this setting means you will need to tap your membership card before your child’s membership card will open the exit gates. You will then need to use your card as normal to exit.

How to adjust the settings & revoke consent in your account:

If you do not wish for your child to have independent access, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Log in to your online Member’s Area. You can access your account here.
  2. Click ‘My Account’ in the navigation bar.
  3. Select ‘Edit Waiver’ for your child.
  4. Tick the box next to: ‘I do not want my child to enter and exit the gym independently’.
  5. Hit submit to save your settings.
  6. You will need to adjust this setting for each child if you have more than one child at Gymfinity that you wish to not have independent access to the club.

Using the access gates if consent is revoked:

If you revoke consent for your child to have independent access, you will need to follow the below process to exit the club:

  1. Parent must tap to activate the gates.
  2. Child then taps to exit.
  3. Parent taps a second time to exit.
