Read MoreGymnastics is hugely beneficial for children in many ways, it is a foundation for all sport and very popular after school activity.
There are a few plus-sides for parents too, for example, there’s no standing around in the cold weather and all state-of-the-art equipment is provided, so you can relax in a purpose-built waiting area with coffee and free WIFI.
But if you’re still not convinced, here are some more benefits:
Children learn cognitive skills far more effectively in an environment that includes the body as well as the mind, like learning and accomplishing a gymnastic routine. The left and right side of the brain have to work together, so your child’s body and spatial awareness will improve. Gymnasts don’t just exercise their bodies, they exercise their minds.
Weekly lessons in gymnastics or even ninja classes can help develop strong and healthy bones, as the sport is a weight-bearing activity. Due to a number of factors, bones tend to get thinner and lose most of their nutrients as we age. By building strong and healthy bones earlier, you can reduce the signs of osteoporosis later in life. Gymnastics can also help to prevent broken bones as your child grows up too, which is a great bonus when they’re running around on the playground.
Gymnasts are known for their extraordinary strength-to-weight ratio. By taking part in strengthening exercises that gymnastics entails, your child will build up their upper body, lower body, and overall core strength. Gymnastics can help build the foundations for great total-body strength as an adult and even as an 80-year-old! Gymnastics also develops flexibility better than almost any other activity, this increased flexibility has the added benefit of limiting injuries too.
Gymnastics provides children of all ages the opportunity to develop their confidence and social skills. At Gymfinity Kids we pride ourselves on having a positive coaching approach, giving children encouragement when learning new skills. It’s also a great place to meet new friends and even have a birthday party!
Perhaps the most important thing, learning gymnastics is fun! So why not contact our friendly team today.
